The Collective known as Savage Quest has claimed another victim.
A wonderful girl by the name of Nikki Girard has joined our wonderings. She's on her way back north from a few months in Guatemala and she is gnarly. Case in point: Hitch hiked through Tijuana to Ocean Beach dodging swine flu, creepy mexican men, and the drug cartel. It is nice to have someone to skate with. No, it is nice to have someone who also sucks at skating to skate with. She's gonna trek up north along the coast with us to Oregon (with stints in Yosemity, Death Valley, and Sequoia along the way) surfing and skating the whole way! Yeeha.
Here is our HUGE APOLOGY TO OUR DEAR MOTHERS!
Sorry we didn't get a chance to call on Mother's Day. You were in our thoughts as we struggled to survive the intense heat of the desert in Joshua Tree. We drove a hectic 4x4 trail to a remote corner of the park and found a mint camping spot just out of bounds. Set up camp and chilled for a couple days. Joshua tree is crazy. HOT HOT HOT.

This is Stan.
Stan is epic. He's a buddy from my TDub Days. Lauren, his lady friend, is just the best. Hey! We need to chill before we leave! Seriously, where ya been???
Stan and I went out one morning for a surf at Mission Beach. Afterwards he mentions a kayak we can borrow from a friend. We pick it up and hatch a plan. We decide to paddle the kayak with our surfboards attached our to Point Loma and surf a sick slabby left called Dolphin Tanks. Its offshore of a Coast Guard Base so the only access to this place is by boat. We paddled the 4 miles out, surfed siiiiiick waves and battled our way back exhausted. Stan puked he was so tired. It was heavy. As the name implies, there were dolphins all over the place. So cool.
Our Computer crashed so don't expect much in the coming weeks until we get that sorted out. We've been in San Diego over 2 weeks now and its definitely time to leave. We've been eating meals at the University here and even been to a few classes. The truck is loving the vege oil and its running like a friggin' top! So its time to head north and get our surf on.
UGGGHH!!!
A huge hello to Emily! Sounds like she's got her share of courage... Apologies accepted for the lack of communication on Mother's Day. Looks like the stars in Joshua Tree Park were MAGNIFICENT!! I wish I could have been there to see them. Take good care and keep in touch, love.
